Philippines Public Holidays 2013 Calendar
Philippines celebrates many local holidays aside from the national ones. The local holidays in this country depend on the demographics of the population.
Certain events such as the day of founding, birth, or death of rulers also determine some local holidays in Philippines. In some regions of Philippines, religious festivals of the major religion are also considered as local holidays.
From year to year, the list of public holidays in Philippines may be different due to different calendar used for calculations (Chinese lunar calendar, Islamic Calendar, and Gregorian Calendar).
The dates of certain holidays also change every year since they are calculated based on days of the week. As an illustration, Good Friday is celebrated on certain Friday of certain month regardless the date of the month.
