South-East Asian Games

The SEA Games (South-East Asian Games), is a multi-sport event held every 2 years with 11 participating countries from Southeast Asia. SEA Games is regulated by Southeast Asian Games Federation, and supervised jointly by International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia.

Participating countries of SEA Games 2013 are Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines, and Timor-Leste.

Myanmar SEA Games 2013 : Naypyidaw – Yangon – Mandalay

SEA Games 2013 (the 27th SEA Games) will be held in Myanmar, hosted jointly by the new capital of Myanmar – Naypyidaw, Yangon, and Mandalay. It will be Myanmar’s third times to hold SEA Games after waiting for 44 years. At first, Vietnam, Philippines, and Thailand also proposed to hold the 27th SEA Games, but all of them are ineligible since they have been the host of the 23rd, 24th, and 25th SEA Games in 2003, 2005, and 2007.

Indonesia SEA Games 2011 : Palembang – Jakarta

SEA Games 2011 Host Country & City
SEA Games 2011 (the 26th SEA Games) will be held in Indonesia, hosted jointly by Palembang (the capital city of South Sumatra) as the main-host and Jakarta (the capital city of Indonesia) as the co-host. Palembang will be staging 296 events, while Jakarta will be holding a total of 266 events.

In the past, Indonesia has been the host of SEA Games for 3 times, in 1979, 1987, and 1997, all hosted in Jakarta, the nation’s capital.

Date of SEA Games 2013 / When is SEA Games 2013?
Myanmar 27th SEA Games 2013 will be held in December, with opening ceremony on Wednesday, 11 December 2013 (11-12-13). The closing ceremony of SEA Games 2013 is yet to be determined.

Date of SEA Games 2011 / When is SEA Games 2011?
Indonesia 26th SEA Games 2011 will be held in November, with opening ceremony on Friday, 11 November 2011 (11-11-11) and closing ceremony on Friday, 25 November 2011. Sport events for SEA Games 2011 will be held from Friday, 11 November 2011 to Tuesday, 22 November 2011.

Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony of SEA Games 2011
Both the opening ceremony and closing ceremony of 2011 SEA Games will be held in Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium in Palembang, along the banks of the Musi River and nearby historic building, Kuto Besak Fort.

SEA Games 2011 athletes village (wisma atlet SEA Games) will be located in Jakabaring, Palembang, in front of Jakabaring Stadium (Gelora Sriwijaya).

Tickets of SEA Games 2011
Tickets for sport events will be sold by respective provincial government where the event is held. Ticket for opening and closing ceremony will be sold by provincial government of South Sumatera.
