Cuando Es Semana Santa 2014 – Holy Week in Spain
Semana Santa, or the Holy Week is a Christian religious holiday, celebrating the last week of Lent, leading up to the Pascua de Resurreccion (Easter) celebration. Spain is well known for it’s Semana Santa traditions, with parades and processions throughout the country, especially the most glamorous one in Seville – Andalusia.
When is Semana Santa 2014?
Semana Santa 2013 will fall on Sunday, 13 April 2014 (Domingo de Ramos – Palm Sunday) to Sunday, 20 April 2014 (Pascua de Resurreccion – Easter). Here are days of Semana Santa 2014:

Semana Santa 2014 Celebration
During Semana Santa 2014 celebrations, there will be parades and processions everywhere in Spain. Some of the well known ones are in Malaga, Lorca, Seville, Leon, Cartagena and Viveiro.
Most of these parades will involve volunteers wearing penitential robe and carrying either candles or wooden cross. In many places, these devotees walk barefoot and carry chains on their feet.
Besides in Spain, Holy Week 2014 is also known as Semana Santa 2013 in Panama, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Philippines and Mexico, as well as among Spanish speaking communities in the USA.
