Victory in Europe Day

Victory in Europe Day, also known as V-E Day or VE Day, is a public holiday observed in commonwealth countries and some European countries. The holiday commemorates the surrender of Nazi Germany to the Allies which marked the end of Adolf Hitler’s regime as well as the end of war in Europe.

When is Victory in Europe Day?
The dates of VE Day observance in European countries are varied, but it is usually observed in May, the month when Nazi surrendered. Many countries observe Victory Day on 8 May, some others celebrate the day on 9 May, while the rest observe it on 5 May every year.
